It is again time to celebrate the Kemper Lecture. This year it will take place on Sunday, March 8. Churchillians of all ages will gather Sunday morning at 11:30 am for a brunch and Ask the Experts. In the afternoon at 1:30 pm, please join us for the Kemper Lecture presented by Professor Richard Toye. The lecture will be followed by a reception and book signing at 3:00 pm A prolific author and no stranger to controversy, Professor Toye studies the history of Britain in its global and imperial context, from the late 19th century to present day. As evidenced in his most recent book on Winston Churchill, The Roar of the Lion: The Untold Story of Churchill's World War II Speeches, Toye is particularly interested in the rhetorical dimension of politics and economics. As one reviewer wrote on his book on Churchill and Lloyd George: (he) "has done something very difficult, especially for a younger scholar: he has taken a subject about which a lot has been written and written it afresh."
